Now Accepting Applications for our Mentoring Program!

With October wrapping up, we look back fondly on all the great activism and awareness that National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) brought. We, and so many other organization of all sizes and scopes, were challenged to see how inclusion drove innovation in our business practices.

Over 85% of our workforce is comprised of someone with a disability, and we would welcome the opportunity for another voice in our chorus of advocates and professionals. Disability employment does not end after October 31, and we hope to keep the momentum for the following months to come.

Accessibility Partners has always maintained a firm commitment to the power of positive mentorship. The entire staff is looking forward to ramping up our offering with a more honed focus this year on professional skills.

We are pleased to announce that we are looking for applicants to our mentorship program centered around building skills in communication, technology, marketing, and public relations. We are seeking a young adult between the ages of 18-22 in either the New Haven, CT or Washington, DC/Maryland area with reliable transportation who desire a mentor to help build their professional skills.

Our mentors are:

  • Open-minded
  • Kind
  • Professional
  • Great communicators
  • Flexible
  • Enthusiastic
  • Dedicated

We are looking for an individual with a disability who identifies with some of the characteristics above, is flexible, eager to learn, and has a positive attitude. Accessibility Partners seeks to help build our mentee’s career skills and make them effective communicators and advocates for disability and accessibility-related issues.

If you are interested in applying, we are accepting on a rolling basis. Please send your résumé to Sharon, as well as a cover page describing a little bit more about you. All applications received will be sent a confirmation, and if we are interested in pursuing the next steps, a phone interview will follow.

Thank you in advance for your interest.
